Off-Grid Solar PV

Off-grid systems use PV modules and batteries to provide solar electric power when or where there is no electric utility power. For those who live in a less developed location, away from the power lines, an off-grid setup may be an energy solution. Some incentives are  available, including a 30% federal tax credit for purchasing and installing a PV system.

Benefits:
  • Provide electricity in locations where it would be expensive or impossible to receive utility power
  • Because off-grid systems are not connected to a utility grid, they are not susceptible to utility blackouts.
  • PV systems can be expected to last 30-40 or more years with very little maintenance.
