Although more rare than solar, good wind sites can be very productive. An open, unobstructed area of at least one acre and an average wind speed of 10mph in your area may indicate site potential. See our Wind Turbine Selection & Siting Criteria section for more information.

• One acre of available space, preferably with no obstructions
• Tower height: high enough so that the turbine blades are 30 feet above any obstable within 500 feet
• 10mph average wind speed
• Permission from legal agencies
