SYSTEM DESIGNER AND PROJECT MANAGER
 
Job Description:
Provide site evaluation, estimates, system design, and project management for renewable energy installations for residential and commercial customers.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The position will primarily serve clients in areas of North Whidbey Island, Anacortes/Fidalgo Island, San Juan Islands, and West Skagit County.
  • Visit renewable energy (RE) potential project sites to evaluate energy usage, audit for potential energy efficiency improvements, and recommend renewable energy systems to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and bids.
  • Prepare detailed designs for solar PV systems.
  • Draft system diagrams and drawings to support proposals, estimates & bids, permitting and installation processes.
  • Interface with permitting agencies and inspectors as needed. Identify potential issues with applicable codes and laws.
  • Supervise, coordinate, schedule and assist with PV system projects, including installation, subcontracts, inspections, & commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot problems and manage warranty work.
  • Participate in marketing and educational events, as required.
  • Manage workload as needed to complete project deadlines on time.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Manage customer service issues.
  • Qualifications
  • Highly organized and capable of working on multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with designing and installing RE systems preferred.
  • Design, engineering, and project management experience and/or skills.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and building codes.
  • Experience securing permits and working with building inspectors preferred.
  • Experience with and knowledge of building and construction techniques and management.
